Wilcox Limousines are first in Automotive sector to win NMCL Funding

Wilcox Limousines are the first automotive company to win part of the Government pledged £16m to support an industry-led national supplier competitiveness and productivity improvement programme.

Today Wilcox Limousines have been awarded £390,000, which will be rolled out over the next two years until 31st March 2022. Delivered by the NMCL Automotive Programme and led by SMMT it consists of various training and improvement activity to support businesses to:

Improve competitiveness
Raise workforce capacity
Grow Productivity
Boost economic growth
Increase exports

Wilcox Limousines awaits final decision in National Business Awards

The team at Wilcox Limousines is on tenterhooks, as the firm awaits the outcome of the 2017 Lloyds Bank National Business Awards, with the coachbuilder having been shortlisted for the Mid-Market Business of the year award.
Having undertaken a presentation in front of a panel of judges, the firm is waiting for the awards ceremony on the 14^th November to see if it’s done enough to convince the judges that Wilcox Limousines deserves to win the overall award.
With head offices in Buckinghamshire, and production facilities in Northampton and Wigan, the family-run firm is the UK’s leading Coachbuilder. Approaching its 70th anniversary in 2018, Wilcox Limousines provides hearses and limousines to the funeral and executive industries.
As part of the judging process, the firm’s CEO, Paul Wilcox, alongside his daughter Leila Wilcox, who is also Head of Marketing at Wilcox Limousines, delivered a presentation to the expert panel tasked with deciding who will eventually win.
Paul Wilcox of Wilcox Limousines said: “We were delighted to have been shortlisted for such a prestigious award and felt the weight of that prestige on our shoulders when conducting our presentation. Despite a fire alarm going off towards the end of it, we felt the presentation went well on the day and it’s now just a case of waiting and seeing if the competition was deemed stronger.”
He added: “Being at the lower end of the turnover scale for a mid-market business, it’s a real endorsement of the quality of our offering and the strength of our business that we even made the shortlist. We just hope that our emphasis on efficient processes and consistently successful service, has been recognised by the judging panel. We’ll have our fingers firmly crossed come the awards ceremony!”
The finalists in the awards were chosen from the hundreds of businesses that entered or were nominated across 18 award categories. All finalists had to present to a panel of experts who make the final decision on the eventual winners.
The award ceremony will take place on Tuesday 14^th November 2017, at the Grosvenor House, Park Lane, where the winners will be revealed.

Wilcox Limousines shortlisted in 3 categories in FSB Merseyside Awards

Wilcox Limousines, the UK’s leading coachbuilder with a state of the art factory in Wigan, has been shortlisted in three categories for the FSB Merseyside, West Cheshire & Wigan Business Awards; Manufacturing & Engineering Business of the Year, Family Business of the Year and Medium Business of the Year.
Wilcox Limousines provides hearses and limousines to the funeral and executive industries and has its main production factory in Wigan. Approaching its 70^th anniversary in 2018, the family-run firm is the UK’s leading coachbuilder.

British-based family business goes international to broaden its horizons

A team from family-run Wilcox Limousines will attend the International Funeral Trade Exhibition, Funéraire Paris, in the French capital next month (November).
While the company, which celebrates its 70^th anniversary next year, already sells to a varied international market, the show will mark the first time Wilcox has professionally exhibited abroad.
Funéraire Paris sees around 5,000 visitors attend each year as it brings together the funeral industry’s leading service providers, including manufacturers such as Wilcox.
On average, it welcomes 250 exhibiting companies with 20 per cent international participation from all over the world, including Germany, Portugal, Romania, Poland, Spain and China.
Leila Wilcox said: “Over the last few years we have built up a customer base abroad, and are known in many countries, but this will be the first time we take our product to an exclusively international audience. We’re very much looking forward to it and to be in the company of some of the best in the business. We believe we stand up as one of the best funeral trade providers in Europe, and indeed the world, and this is a fantastic opportunity to prove that.”
Wilcox Limousines, a third-generation family business, is one of the UK’s most prestigious coachbuilders crafting hearses and limousines, with factories in Chalfont St Peter, Northampton and Wigan.
Earlier this year the company unveiled its latest vehicles, as it launched the Volvo S90 Hearse and S90 Limousine at the National Funeral Exhibition at Stoneleigh Park in Warwickshire.
It also delivered a hearse to Kenya for the funeral of respected politician Major-General Joseph Nkaissery, the African country’s former Interior Cabinet Secretary.
