Jaguar tender an exclusive contract to convert Jaguar XJ saloons into Hearses and Limousines which Wilcox and Eagle win. To this day, they are the only Jaguar Cars supported Coachbuilder worldwide.

Wilcox Limousines was founded as Bill and May recognised the potential growth and longevity of the business.

In those days it was possible to purchase a new chassis and take it to an established coach builder to have a Hearse body built onto it. Soon the franchise for Austin (Vanden Plas Princesses) was obtained and Bill started building his own hearses.
