Wilcox Limousines was founded as Bill and May recognised the potential growth and longevity of the business.
In those days it was possible to purchase a new chassis and take it to an established coach builder to have a Hearse body built onto it. Soon the franchise for Austin (Vanden Plas Princesses) was obtained and Bill started building his own hearses.

Upon being disbanded from the war, William Wilcox (affectionately known as Bill) obtained the contract from Ealing Studio’s to supply vehicle services and began chauffeuring the actors and film crew.
Bill soon realised that rather than hiring the Limousines to do this he could buy and sell the Limousines himself. Soon, Funeral Directors who were purchasing the Limousines started asking for Hearses too.
They dream of running their own business and marry five years later in 1939 with William then joining the war.
